The purchase of archival and disaster recovery supplies to preserve manuscripts, institutional records, books, photographs, lantern slides, glass plate negatives, and other materials related to the history of the YMCA and physical education in America.

The Archives and Special Collections Office of Babson Library at Springfield College proposes to follow up on a preservation survey by purchasing preservation and disaster recovery supplies in which to house and protect its unique humanities collections. The college holds one of the richest collections of material related to the history of the YMCA and physical education during the 1880 to 1920 period in the United States. As an important next step in responding to preservation planning recommendations, the college archivist will direct activities to appropriately store the large backlog of valuable and/or fragile materials, including photographs, slides, magnetic media, theses/dissertations, and conventional manuscript collections.
