Attendance of a special collections librarian at three one-week workshops at the Preservation Management Institute in New Jersey. Based on the workshop training, the librarian would perform a preservation assessment and create a disaster management plan for the institution.

Montana State University Billings Library would send its Reference/Special Collections Librarian to a three-week Preservation Management Institute in New Jersey, where she would earn a certificate in preservation management from Rutgers University's School of Communication, Information and Library Studies. The goal would be to complete a preservation survey, develop recommendations, draft a disaster plan, and develop a preservation plan for Montana State University, Billings. The university's collections include archives, maps, American Indian ledger drawings, local and state political history, and books related to the history of Montana and the American West.
