Disaster Preparedness for the Collections

FAIN: PG-50187-07

Museum of Photographic Arts (San Diego, CA 92101-1662)
Barbara Pope (Project Director: May 2006 to September 2009)

Hiring two preservation consultants to develop and test a disaster recovery management plan, purchase supplies, and train the staff of the museum in emergency management preparedness. The museum holds a collection of 19th- and 20th-century photographs, including materials from the former Soviet Union.

This is a project to develop, test, and implement a collections emergency management plan, including the purchase of emergency supplies, for the museum's permanent collection of photographs, the photographs (generally loans) temporarily on exhibit at the museum, and the newly opened library collection.
