FAIN: PG-50215-07

City of Las Vegas, New Mexico (Las Vegas, NM 87701-4593)
Linda L. Gegick (Project Director: May 2006 to December 2007)

Hiring preservation consultants to assess the City of Las Vegas Museum and Rough Rider Collection of 2,400 still images dating from the 19th and early 20th century, to conduct a two-day workshop on this media for the staffs of other small museums in New Mexico and the purchase of supplies to rehouse the photographs.

The grant would be used to plan and implement a program to preserve, organize, and rehouse the museum's photographic collection. In addition, the museum would host a regional training program for other small museums in the state of New Mexico to learn about the care and management of photographic collections while gaining hands-on experience working to rehouse and upgrade the condition of the Las Vegas Museum's image collection.
