Antiquarian and Landmarks Society Archives Rehousing Plan

FAIN: PG-50385-08

Connecticut Landmarks (Hartford, CT 06106-1821)
Beverly Lucas (Project Director: May 2007 to September 2009)

Hiring a consultant to develop a plan to rehouse and preserve the society's collections of furniture, ceramics, textiles, artworks, photographs, and archives related to the 18th- and 19th-century history of Hartford, Connecticut and surrounding areas.

The Antiquarian & Landmarks Society (A&L) seeks to develop an Archives Re-housing Plan which would outline specific improvements to the physical storage of A&L's archival and photographic collections currently housed in its house museums and Society headquarters. A Conservator of Photographs and Paper would prepare the Re-housing Plan, which would detail the appropriate storage materials and furniture needed to re-house the collections in a new location. The improved physical storage of A&L's archives will enable the Society to provide greater access to the public while better preserving its important collections.
