FAIN: PG-50579-09

VENTURA CO MUSEUM RESEARCH LIBRARY (Ventura, CA 93001-2607)
Jennifer Maxon (Project Director: May 2008 to October 2010)

The purchase of preservation supplies to rehouse the museum's 125 California Native American baskets, 50 historic costumes and textiles, 157 linear feet of archival collections, and 160 rolled documents from the museum's library.

The Museum of Ventura County will use grant funds to rehouse vulnerable materials from the Library and Museum Collections departments. These materials, which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries and span the development of the county and surrounding regions of southern California, from the native Chumash Indians, the Mission and Rancho periods, through the early settlers, commercialization, industrialization, to the present, include 157 linear feet of archival materials, 160 rolled documents, 125 Native American baskets, and 50 costumes and textiles.
