Preservation Assessment of Historical Documents of the Center for Holocaust Studies

A preservation assessment of records and artifacts at the Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Education Center, documenting conditions in several concentration camps during World War II. The collection includes original memoirs of holocaust survivors, correspondence, maps depicting camp layouts, and an original concentration camp cookbook.

The goal of this application is to assess the historical documents, posters, rare books, uniforms, personal diaries, letters, photographs and other artifacts contributed by Holocaust survivors and WWI veterans in order to 1) preserve them for permanent display and storage in the the Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Education Center at Brookdale Community College, and 2) make them available for short-term loan to schools, museums, libraries and religious institutions and government agencies.
