FAIN: PG-50988-10

Millersville University of Pennsylvania (Millersville, PA 17551-1806)
Marilyn McKinley Parrish (Project Director: May 2009 to August 2013)

Funding supports a preservation needs assessment, which will result in recommendations for care of the collection in the current space and while in interim storage during renovation, as well as recommendations for improving environmental conditions and collection storage.

This grant will support a preservation needs assessment of Special Collections at Millersville University. This assessment will provide essential information in order to complete a long range plan for the care of rare and valuable materials housed in the area, and to prepare for a major library building renovation project. 1. A consultant will assist in developing plans for improving storage and environmental issues before, during, and after the planned library building renovation project. 2. The consultant will recommend furniture and storage materials needed to properly house the collections in our renovated space, as well as make detailed recommendations to assist architects in planning for the renovation.
