Digitization of 100,000 pages of Massachusetts newspapers published prior to 1963, as part of the state’s continuing participation in the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP). This phase would continue to focus on papers of record in the state, as well as eighteenth-century newspapers.

This second cycle of the National Digital Newspaper Program grant project will allow Boston Public Library to contribute an additional 100,000 pages of digital newspaper published in Massachusetts between 1690 and 1963 to the Library of Congress' Chronicling America database.
