To acquire the assistance of consultants in deciding the best methods of preparing the Martin Luther King, Jr. papers and those of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and other related organizations for archival use, these papers concern a period of history in which basic and extensive social and political change was affected by a conscious philosophy and a consistent strategy of nonviolence.
