To preserve and catalog the Hufeland Collection, which contains primary and secondary source material pertaining to eve community in Westchester County. These materials have been inaccessible because of lack of organization. They will provide a tremendous resource for those interested in local history. The county has 25 historical societies, eleven colleges and public elementary and secondary schools, all of whom have shown interest in using the collection. Two consultants, a manuscript conservator and an archivist will be consulted.
