Historical Society of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA 19107-5699)
David O. Moltke-Hansen (Project Director: January 2003 to April 2005)

To support cataloging, conserving, and rehousing documents and works of art related to early American history.

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania's renowned collections include national treasures, documents central to America's history and intellectual and cultural heritage. These national icons are in inadequate housing and are at risk, of damage when viewed and examined. The Society proposes to document and analyze these documents, provide conservation treatment, and rehouse them -- making them suitable for display at the Society and for exhibition loan at other institutions.
