Installation of climate control, fire suppression systems, and security systems in a central storage facility and six exhibition structures that house 500 baskets, masks, carvings, tools, and other American Indian (Salish) artifacts dating from pre-history to the 19th century. Also included are tools, ceramics, furniture, textiles and other items that document white settlement in Washington state during the 1800s, and some 1,000 photographs from the 1890s to the 1970s.
