Valerie Paley (Project Director: August 2013 to May 2017)
Michael T. Ryan (Project Director: May 2017 to March 2021)

10 months of stipend support (1 fellowship) per year for three years and a contribution to defray costs associated with the selection of fellows.

The New-York Historical Society (N-YHS) respectfully requests the renewed support of the National Endowment for the Humanities in the amount of $269,400 to offer a total of six ten-month NEH resident fellowship positions, two in each of the 2015-2016, 2016-2017, and 2017-2018 program cycles. The N-YHS currently hosts one NEH fellow for an academic year term annually. Fellowship recipients become part of the N-YHS's dedicated and growing community of scholars, whose research, scholarship, and teaching rely on, and promote, the institution's extraordinary collections of historical artifacts, American art, and other materials that document four centuries of American history.
