To estimate total wealth and its composition in the 13 colonies. The results will contribute directly to knowledge of the level and kind of living in America and the economic strength of the colonies at the time of the Revolution, as well as basic data for analysis of distribution of wealth at that time, of American economic growth rates before the 19th Century and of early origins of capital in America.
