Dictionary is intended to organize the word materials of the Old High German (i.e. medieval) explanations of Latin texts into a format for scholarly use and investigation. Once accessible, these materials will shed new light on the origins and early development of the German language as well as the understanding of Medieval Latin in the German lands. German computer alphabetical list of words and references to Old High German completed, completion of Latin alphabetical list of words and references imminent. Sort program will also produce variant list and thesaurus word lists to be published in companion volume to the Dictionary. Largest body of recorded materials of early German language will be made accessible for reference and research. Up to now time-consuming for scholars to conduct related research.
