To edit for publication a selection from the voluminous correspondence, legal diplomatic papers and speeches of Daniel Webster (1782-1852). Only a quarter of the available Webster papers has ever been published. Documents are being selected on the basis of their significance for political, intellectual social and legal history and are being placed in context with enough annotation to fit the needs of the modern student.
