To gather, translate, edit, annotate and index the post-1949 writings, speeches, instructions, interview transcripts, messages and letters of Mao Tse-Tung, which are available outside China. The publication of such a collection will constitute a major breakthrough in the gathering and translation of source materials for scholarly research on contemporary China.
