To cover the salary of the Associate Investigator for two years in the project concerned with the collecting, transcribing, editing and publishing of the papers of Alexander Hamilton. Of the projected 26 volumes of the Hamilton Papers, 21 have so far been published, all by the Columbia University Press since 1955. Funding for other aspects of the remaining volumes will be borne by NHPRC and the Columbia University Press.
