Julia Makarushka (Project Director: October 1977 to present)

To develop a framework for understanding the problems of risk, consent and compensation in the context of general social values using data collected earlier. The analysis of the data will result in l) a research report concerning the consequences of informed consent procedures in biomedical research and employment agreements and the general problem of allocating the costs of technological change, and 2) identification of knowledge of these issues and an assessment of the need for formal communication methods in the historically separate fields of biomedical research, medical malpractice and Worker's Compensation.
