A Translation of Two Treatises Concerning Witchcraft in Spain

To translate two 16th century Spanish treatises on witchcraft and demonology. Repobacion de supersticiones y Lechicerias and Tratado de supersticiones y Lechicerias represent the Renaissance notion of the supernatural. Accompanying the translations will be an introduction with a fully documented study of the two authors, their reasons for writing, their sources, and their impact on contemporaries and future generations. For the first time, this neglected body of lore will be made available to the English- speaking public.
