Project to complete research on specialized diplomatic documents which will shed new light on the nature and orientation of the relationship between the Great Britain and Franco-Russian Alliance from 1894-1904. ABSTRACT: Funds to support grantee while completing research on specialized diplomatic documents at the British Public Records Office. Through earlier research in British and French archives, grantee has been able to obtain hitherto unavailable information which has shed light on general and specific orientation and nature of the alliance. Very little already written about alliance in English or French. Study will illuminate important shifts during period of 1894-1904 which evolved into the Triple Entente among the then three great powers whose actions usually moved the world. Will broaden knowledge of the period, basic contribution to diplomatic history. Grantee teaches Russian history at Federal City Collge. Sudies will improve his background for teaching.
