Legacies of that birth process, Egyptian distrust of West, Gaullist resentment of Britain, implacable Arab hostitility toward toward Israel. Was also first test of capacities and limitations of the UN. Central research in Zionist Archives in Jerusalem. PI also has access to many individuals personally involved in events of the period who are alive and active in Israel today.
