Funds to support editing of entries of Modern Greek-English dictionary. Project has been in work since 1960. No truly good or adequate Modern Greek-English dictionary presently exists, providing furstration to scholars. When completed, expected to produce authoritative dictionary. Important tool for translators of modern Greek literature and other works into English. Will make reliable materials available for linguistic research on Modern Greek. Funds for editorial assistance, salary of PI to free him for work on project, supplies, travel.
