Purpose is to provide a researched basis for and a permanent record of the 20th century restoration of a most significant 19th century building. Preliminary archeological investigation, along with a written and photographic record of each restoration procedure will make vital contribution to national preservation movement and to the study of Victorian architecture. Upon completion of restoration, mansion will open as a museum for tours and study, will initiate educational programs based on historic and artistic values of the building.
