A historical and comparative study of millenarian religion during the decade of the 1790s, concentrating on France and England and focuces on 3 "prophets" who emerged during the era: Suzette Labrousse, Catherine Theot, and Richard Brothers. The project traced the careers of these three and showed the interaction between their ideas and the events of the French Revolution. Also appraised the extent of millenarian attitudes within the atmospere of revolutionary excitement that accompanied the developments of the Revolution, and examined Revolutionary millenarianis in light ot the Revolution, and examined Revolutionary millenarianism in light of the considerable body of research that anthropologists, sociologists and philosophers of religion have give to the phenomenon in recent years with comparisons with other times and places.
