To permit research necessary to a scholarly biography of Johann Jakob Moser (1701-1785), a German jurist whose thought contributed to changing relations between law and social structure. Moser held that law ought to reflect in detail social and political realities and thus had to take into account variations of status and influence among groups and individuals.
