To attempt to 1) identify all items of research importance relating to Modern and Contemporary China; 2) to locate holdings and ascertain where complete runs of serial items can be obtained; 3) to prepare bibliographic descriptions of these--then 4) selectively to prepare descritpive and critical abstracts of the more important ones.
