To prepare an annotated edition of the unpublished minutes of the Sketch Club and to reconstruct the period which lack minutes. The Sketch Club or the XXI (ca. 1829-69) was an interprofessional group of American artists, writers, patrons and other art enthusiasts. The material helps to document the close ties between American artists and writers during the 19th century.
