A Computerized Index of Emblem Books

The index of Emblem Books will be a collation of pictorial and literary material as found in sixteenth century Emblem Books. The project is to use this material which gives insight into the meaning of certain objects, animals, figures and actions in the Renaissance, to provide a nuclear collection for a rapid and flexible research tool for historians and students interested in art and literature.
