To make a comprehensive analysis of modern imperial rule in subsaharan Africa. The study, based on Afro-European history from 1870 to 1960, will be concerned with the total Western impact on Africans by Western institutions, techniques, skills, ideas and ideals, as well as African responses to Western influence.
