Regional Archives/Manuscript Repositories in USSR: A Directory and Bibliography of Published Reference Aids

The project would provide a directory of archival and other manuscirpt resources in the fifteen republics of the USSR, together with an annotated bibliography of published guides, catalogs, or other research aids. The resultant volume would be sponsored for publication. The project is the result of extensive research in the USSR by the PI, and will be of particular utility to research libraries and archives and to scholars visiting the Soviet Union under the Cultural Exchange program.
