To compile the first comprehensive Historical Atlas of South Asia from palaeolithic times to the present. The Atlas is meant to serve as a basic reference work both for teaching purposes and as an aid to future research. NEH funds will be used to defray salaries of staff working on the final drafting of the Atlas.
