Microfilming the Principal Archives on the Island of Malta

There are presently on Malta three archives containing information relating to the history of the Mediterranean area from the year 1107 to 1789. The three archives contain almost 2 million pages. A good quarter of these are in a serious state of disintegration. The purpose of this project is therefore to microfilm as much of the three archives as is feasible, starting with those doucments that cannot last much longer, and then proceeding either in a simple chronological order or according to faculty interest.
