To analyse pertinent educational and political works of John Locke, the political philosopher whose thought played the most decisive part in founding and shaping the American regime. The research is designed to combine aspects of the disciplines of political science, philosophy and the classics, and applies humanistic methods to the analysis of one of the most pressing problems of our national life. Will culminated in the publicatoin of two books dealing with the problem of civic education in the liberal regime.
