To collect and analyze for publication all the parallels between the ethical treatises of Plutarch and early Christian literature (New Testament, Apocrypha and Apostolic Fathers). By documenting the interrelationships between the ethical traditions of the Greek world and primitive Christianity, the project will increase our understanding of the dynamic process by which the moral legacy of "Western humanism emerged from the encounter and synthesis of Greek humanism and early Christianity.
