CUNY Research Foundation, City College (New York, NY 10031-9101)
James V. Hatch (Project Director: September 1974 to present)

To collect oral histories of black artists (painters, musicians, composers, writers, dancers, actors, designers, etc.), particularly those who made contributions before mid-20th century. Taped interviews with these artists are stored in the Black Cultural Arts Center at CUNY as part of the Black Studies original research materials. Abstracts of each interview are written as well.
