A Tribal History of the Cheyenne River

To assist in the development of a history of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. The project will collect materials necessary to write a tribal history and produce and publishable manuscript. Usual documentary sources, photography, extensive oral interviewing and training Indian interviewers will be done. Specific information will be sought from the Sioux families to research the 4 sub-tribes. The completed history will fill information gaps in the Sioux cultural picture.
