To support an international conference of scholars in the sciences and humanities on the recent advances in the studies of medieval art history and archaeology in the light of ceramic archaeometry and technology. The conference stresses not only these scientific techniques which have been used successful but also those which ought to be applied. As such, the conference serves as a focal point for some of the most recent and innovative work in ceramic technology.
