New Americans: Immigration in the 1970s

The New Americans will be a comprehensive study of recent immigrants to the U.S.—reasons for leaving their native lands, problems and achievement after they arrive in this country, political impact on the American future. The research will be based primarily on intensive contact with individual immigrants and their families over an extended period of time in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, churches and places of employment.
