FAIN: RO-12481-75

Forest History Society, Inc. (Santa Cruz, CA 95060)
Harold K. Steen (Project Director: August 1975 to present)

To provide a single-volume interpretation of American forest history. In addition to closing a historiographical gap lamented by historians of American lumbering, forestry and conservation, the project will provide a valuable instructional tool and a work of general interest for a bicentennial-minded public increasingly concerned with the roots of current environmental and economic issues.
