To increase our knowledge of the design and construction of American sailing ships of the 19th century by recording the remains of three vessels surviving in the Falkland Islands. These ships represent types which can no longer Abound elsewhere. Two represent types which had disappeared in North American prior to the Historical American Merchant Marine Survey of 1936-37.
