Martin Chusid (Project Director: June 1977 to present)

To support a congress which will link research on the two versions of Verdi's most important early opera, Macbeth, with a carefully-prepared performance of the original version of the work. The results of this research will be disseminated in a volume of proceedings which will, in effect, become a Macbeth sourcebook for scholars, students, performers, stage directors, and managers of opera houses.
