Archaeological Surface Survey in the Lower Euphrates Salvage Project, Turkey

To survey the archeological settlements dating from Late Uruk and Akkadian periods in the region of Turkey which will be flooded following dam construction along the Euphrates River in 1983. A systematic survey, based on preliminary findings already completed, will allow time for an efficient excavation project before the area is submerged. Data will be coded for keypunching to speed analysis of findings; two articles will be published within the six months following the survey.
