The Papers of Andrew Jackson

FAIN: RQ-50221-06

University of Tennessee, Knoxville (Knoxville, TN 37916-3801)
Daniel Feller (Project Director: November 2005 to February 2010)

To complete volumes 7 and 8, the first two volumes of presidential papers and work on volume 9. (36 months)

The Papers of Andrew Jackson is a scholarly editing project to collect and make available the extant literary record of the seventh president. The project has completed an exhaustive worldwide search for documents and produced a comprehensive microfilm with accompanying printed guide. It is now publishing a selective 17-volume printed edition, the heart of which will be the eight annual presidential volumes. This grant will support completion of the first two presidential volumes, Volumes 7 and 8, covering 1829 and 1830, and work on Volume 9, covering 1831. Including many new documents, these volumes will provide an authoritative record of Jackson's presidency and advance scholarship on a broad range of subjects.
