An electronic edition of Cambridge Pembroke College MS 25, an eleventh-century collection of Latin sermons from which many Old English translations were produced. (24 months)

This project will result in an authoritative digital edition of Cambridge, Pembroke College MS 25, which is an eleventh-century collection of Latin sermons from which several Old English translations were produced. The manuscript contains 96 prose pieces. The edition will capitalize on recent developments in electronic modes of editing, applying the methods and procedures of the Edition Production Technology developed at the Univ. of Kentucky to edit the Alfredian translation of Boethius. The edition will feature select translations, notes, explanatory materials, an index, and a glossary. The Richard Rawlinson Center at Western Michigan will serve as the administrative locus of an international team.
