To compile accounts of income and outgo from the treasuries of five major areas of the Spanish Empire in America --Chile, Mexico, Peru, the Rio de la Plata, and Upper Peru. The data will provide scholars material for analyzing every aspect of Spanish colonial life -- the church, military, Indians, trade, office holders, education, in short, the financial and economic structure of the Spanish empire in America.
