To prepare a set of thematic indices of Italian madrigals found in collections published between 1530 and 1550. Computer programs have been written to generate a variety of indices: l) by traditional management as it appears in original 16th century past books; 2) by composers and titles; 3) by titles; and, 4) by interval sequence of the incipits (opening melodies).
