Bicentennial Conference on the History of Medicine in America

To support a 5-day international conference on the history of American medicine. The conference will fall into 2 parts: a) The independence of American and extra-American intellectual development in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries and b) The flow of ideas from the U.S. to Europe and the Third World. Both segments of the meeting will stress the ethical and historical contexts of contemporary concerns in medicine.
