To support an international symposium of approximately 24 major papers, dealing with the place and role of the American Revolution in 18th century culture, principally in North America and Western Europe. The symposium will center on the intellectual and cultural events and movements leading up to the Revolution, and on the cultural-intellectual effects which result from it.
